What Blogging Has Taught Me

Hello #ANEWMEFam!

I hope you like your NEW name! Well, it's been a year since I said "YES" to God's instructions to launch this blog, even though the official launch was this year. When I started this blogging journey, I had no clue where it would go or where it would even take me. I had no idea how it would usher me into a total transformation of business rebranding and increase my connections. More than anything, I had no idea how much it would stretch me or challenge me to evolve into "A NEW ME." It has taught me to not only encourage others to embrace their "NEW ME" but I had to learn how to really LIVE IT! You know, not just "talk the talk, but walk the walk." Today, I want to share some of the main points on "what blogging has taught me:" 1. Obedience in God - This is everything! Personally, I cannot do anything without my faith in Christ. It's who I am. With that said, I have resolved I'm not going to be for everyone and that's okay. It's not a popularity contest, it's about being purpose driven. When you're purpose "driven," you learn to "drive" in your own lane. My obedience to simply "Blog" has allowed me to expand God's kingdom and connect with some amazing people. (If you have been following me lately, I've been on a serious speaking circuit. :) I've learned to not Minimize My Purpose no matter how crazy the instructions from God may be. Obey God. The reward will always be in your obedience. 2. Follow a Realistic Schedule - Since January 2016 I've added a couple of responsibilities to my plate. It has caused me to step back and asses my goals and rethink how I can make all of this work (in addition to being a wifey and mommy:). Around, August and September of this year I really hit a wall. I felt overwhelmed and didn't have specific direction on what I needed to do next. It was a difficult short-term storm, but it actually drove me into the presence of God to regain my focus. Once I gained clarity, I was able to readjust my schedule that was more realistic. This decision allows me to continue my alignment with God's plan. You will witness those changes in the very near future. 3. Get Specific With Your Target Market - If you've been following me, you will notice I have a variety of blog contributors and blog topics you can choose from. I have 10 different categories y'all. TEN!!! What was I thinking?! LOL The reason I initially did this was because it displayed my love for many areas of life. Don't get me wrong it has been great! Besides, connecting with the blog contributors has been the best experience! The problem with having such a variety is you can't really capture who your audience is. My desire has been to reach women, but what kind of women?

I got it now. :) 4. You Won't Have The Answers - I started this blog on pure obedience and faith. I didn't have all the answers or specifics. When I began the journey I experienced both a tremendous fulfilment and some confusion along the way. Confusion is such a great teacher! For it served as an opportunity to help me become more specific on my purpose and vision. We are not meant to remain in that state and will do what we can to understand and seek out answers. That's exactly what "confusion" did for me. I kept moving and kept seeking until I found my answers. Thank you Mr. Confusion! I knew if God wanted me to start this He would have to be the one to give me the clarity I need and He has. I believe He wanted to see if I would take the initial step to "just do it" before He could give me further instructions. Now God can entrust me with more answers and more steps because I went through the preparation process to be able to handle the upcoming harvest of "MORE." Yay! God may not be leading you start a blog, but He is leading you to do something specifically. These four points can apply to that. I'm here to tell you that when you take the plunge, launch out into the deep, or take the first step, rest assured God will continue to provide you with what you need along the path. That includes the finances, people, opportunity, and fulfilment. He will allow the confusion to happen for free. :) Now God is not the author of confusion, but what He allows results in great teaching opportunities. It's all about your perspective!

Trust me, it will all work out for your good (Romans 8:28). If you ever need encouragement about how to start anything, just look at what I have gained from the simple instructions to "BLOG..."

So much more to come! Stay tuned. "...And the just shall live by his faith..."
