The No Makeup, Makeup Look

Happy F.A.B. (Fashion and Beauty) Friday!

Often our focus is on the girl who loves a made up face, from the really defined brow to the lip shade that says, “POW”. However, we understand that all the steps to a really dolled up face is not everyone’s cup of tea, so today we are serving lemonade! For the lady who only wants to do the bare minimum but still appear polished and serve natural beauty; this blog is just for you.

When you want to wear makeup but don’t want to look made up, your best go to is a tinted moisturizer. The reason you want tinted is because it promises to give slight coverage for the fresh face look. It’s not for the woman who loves full coverage as it is intended to enhance your natural features in their truest form. It can be applied with a moist sponge in minutes as the objective is to keep your look really bare. For this step we love the MAC lightful C tented cream. The cost of this product is a little pricey at $35 but remember it moisturizes as well and helps with minimum coverage as any lightweight foundation. So you really get a dual purpose product on this one. Click here to purchase.

When barely there G.L.A.M is your preference you have to play up those eyes with a voluminous mascara. Making sure to do at least two coats on your top and one on the bottom. Adding mascara to the bottom lashes is an absolute must. It gives the illusion that you have a played up eye when really you just spent 2 minutes applying mascara right before you stepped out the car to that mid-day lunch date. Any mascara will do as long as it gives volume but one of our affordable faves is the L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara only hitting your pockets for around $6. It can be found at your local drug store like CVS and Walgreens. Trust us, it does wonders and is right up there with any of the top more expensive brands.

Lastly, get a season inspired gloss. When looking for a great gloss, our recommendation is always spend a little more so that you get the pigmentation you’re looking for without the need for primers etc. Sephora is a great place to go and try out various brands for lip gloss as you may find one you like that you’ve never heard of. We like Tarte Cosmetics as they offer a few lip palettes pricing around $40 which is great because you can see which one is your favorite before buying a full tube. Shop here and try the new Tarte “Rainforest of the Sea” palette. It is priced at $42 with a few amazing shades for this time of year. It’s limited edition so get it while you can!

With a swipe across the cheek of your favorite blush and a freshly waxed, threaded or tweezed brow, you can now be justified to put your face to Beyonce's famous quote, “I woke up like this!”

Have a GLAMorous & FABulous Friday!
