We are Redefining Real Beauty this F.A.B. Feature Friday with Mrs. Tavia Whitlowe, the owner of 'For Beauty Sake.' She’s a beautiful, sweet soul. She’s so down to earth and super funny! I met her through my photographers Anthony and Chandra Douglas. As she applied my makeup for the photoshoot for all of the fabulous pictures you've seen in A NEW ME: Transparently, Abundantly Blog, we began to talk about life, family, and beauty. I love what she stands for, her fabulousness, and faith in God. Let's take a closer peek into her FABULOUS LIFE, enjoy! Dr. E: Please tell us a little bit about yourself. Tavia: I am Tavia Whitlowe, owner of For Beauty Sake. A beauty and fashion consulting company. O

Who Would YOU Be If YOU Had Nothing?

Who Would You Be if You Had Nothing? Loss of income. Medical emergencies. Man-made or natural disasters. Without notice, our fragile, familiar world could change in an instant. Consider the parable of the wise and foolish builders—the wise builds upon a rock; the foolish, sand. When the storms of life came, only the structure built on a sure foundation was able to withstand the onslaught of the storm. Your worst failures are your greatest teachers. God doesn’t promise safety from storms but rather safely through storms. You will still have to endure the challenges. You may even fail. But God will use those failures to reveal important truths about yourself and the world around you. And in ti

Don't you DARE Minimize Your Purpose!

When God told me to create this blog I immediately started doing my research on what it takes to actually launch it. I initially started out trying to do it on my own, but yeah that didn't work out! Then He started to connect me up with some amazing people who were gifted in writing, fashion, beauty, and of course branding! Then I begin thinking, "A blog Lord? I mean I get it, but EVERYBODY and their mama is doing a blog!” Then it hit me, who am I to minimize what the Lord leads me to do? If God told me to go upstairs and change the guest room pillow cases from blue to hot pink the fact that He said it outweighs what my finite mind can comprehend. He has a purpose and plan in everything He l

Timeless Beauty

We are beyond excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Estrelita Bruce for A NEW ME: Transparently, Abundantly Blog. When she asked us to be a part we could not deny this opportunity because it is something we hold so near and dear to our hearts. We have a gift to empower women to love who God created them to be, and giving them fun and trendy ways to enhance their personal style is our heart’s beat. We've often heard, "you look how you feel," and we want every woman reading our contribution to feel like the fearfully and wonderfully made creation that they are! Owning our individual style is something we had to embrace in our personal journey as twins, and although our readers

When Trials Come

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, KJV) Tribulation (Greek: [thlipsis] pressure, affliction, anguish, burdened, persecution, tribulation, trouble) One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was accept the fact that life is filled with trouble. Maybe I was just an idealist or a dreamer and it took a while for me to fully understand today’s scripture. I kept looking for this place in my life where things would “level off.” However, storms will rise and rage in the life of a Christian. As soon as one storm passes another one is rising just over the horizon

The Inception of A NEW ME: Transparently, Abundantly ©

On the heels of experiencing a high from a wonderful opportunity in Atlanta, GA with Heart and Soul Magazine at the 2015 Steve Harvey Expo, I came home feeling discouraged. I had no idea where it was coming from but I know when I “get in my feelings” it’s a sure sign that prayer must be the next option to prevent me from living in that place. I took some time to seek God to understand why I was having those feelings after such a great experience. That expo encompassed 3 power packed days of interacting with new people, business owners, speaking on platforms, and facilitating classes. When I returned home I was faced with four walls of silence interacting with my own thoughts. I felt disillus
